Ubiquiti & UniFi Questions, Answered
Are you an authorised Ubiquiti supplier?
Yes. We supply Ubiquiti gear exclusively through Ubiquiti's official Australian distribution channel — never grey-market imports. All equipment is genuine, current-revision Australian stock with full manufacturer warranty.
Can you replace my existing WiFi & switching with UniFi?
Absolutely. Most of our larger installs are rip-and-replace projects of legacy Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, NetGear or consumer-grade gear. We can phase the cutover after-hours so your business never goes offline during the swap.
Do you charge a monthly licence fee for UniFi Protect cameras or UniFi Talk?
No. Unlike Hikvision NVR licences, Verkada subscriptions or 3CX/Hosted Voice per-extension fees, UniFi Protect and UniFi Talk have zero recurring per-device licence costs. You pay for the hardware once, and that's it.
How does UniFi compare to Cisco Meraki or Aruba?
UniFi delivers the same enterprise feature set — VLANs, RADIUS, captive portals, deep packet inspection, multi-site management — at roughly 30-50% of the equivalent Meraki or Aruba spend, and with no annual licence renewals. The trade-off is that UniFi requires a competent integrator (us) to design and run it properly. That's where we come in.
Can you install at multi-site businesses?
Yes. UniFi's centralised cloud management is purpose-built for multi-site. We deploy identical configurations to every site, then run them all from one console. We currently look after multi-site clients ranging from 2 to 18+ sites across SE QLD, regional QLD and interstate.
What about ISP / business internet?
We commonly pair UniFi cloud gateways with business NBN, dedicated fibre, fixed wireless or 4G/5G — and use them as the failover orchestrator. You get one device handling the primary line, the backup line and seamless cutover.
Do you offer ongoing management after the install?
Yes — entirely optional. Our managed UniFi service covers firmware updates, monitoring, alert response, configuration changes and capacity planning. Or you can take ownership of the network on day one and call us only when you need us.
Can you integrate UniFi Access door control with our HR / payroll system?
In most cases yes, via SCIM or LDAP/AD sync. Card revocation when staff leave, scheduled access for casuals, and visitor pre-registration are all standard. We've integrated UniFi Access with Microsoft 365 / Azure AD, Google Workspace, Xero People and Employment Hero.
