Webroot / OpenText Cybersecurity Partner

Webroot Specialists

Cloud-managed endpoint protection, DNS filtering and security awareness training.

Lightweight, cloud-managed protection that doesn't slow your fleet to a crawl

Webroot (now part of OpenText) is one of the lightest, fastest cloud-managed endpoint security platforms on the market — a fraction of the disk and CPU footprint of legacy AV. We deploy and manage Webroot Endpoint Protection, DNS Protection and Security Awareness Training across SMB fleets in SE Queensland — centrally managed from our console, with daily threat alerting, and per-seat billing in Australian dollars.

Products & Offerings

The complete Webroot security stack

Webroot Endpoint Protection (EPP)

Cloud-managed antivirus and anti-ransomware for Windows, Mac and servers. ~5MB agent footprint, scans in seconds (not hours), zero impact on user experience — your staff stop complaining about "the AV slowing my laptop".

Webroot DNS Protection

Block phishing, malware and adult/category content at the DNS layer before a user even loads the page. Works on-network, off-network and on roaming laptops — no on-prem appliance, no proxy config.

Webroot Security Awareness Training

Phishing simulations, micro-learning modules and compliance reporting — turn your staff from the weakest link into the first line of defence. Includes Australian-relevant scenarios (myGov, ATO, Australia Post phishing).

Multi-Tenant Cloud Console

We manage your Webroot fleet from our central console — push policy, respond to alerts, roll out updates, generate compliance reports. You get the protection without needing to babysit a security console.

Journaling & Rollback Recovery

If something does sneak past, Webroot journals every file change and can roll the endpoint back to pre-infection state — a powerful last line of defence against zero-day ransomware.

Per-Seat Australian Billing

Monthly per-seat licensing in AUD, GST-inclusive, on the same invoice as your other managed services. No annual lock-in for SMB plans.

Why Us

Why deploy Webroot through us

Authorised OpenText Partner

Direct partner channel — proper escalation paths to OpenText's security operations team when a real incident lands.

Fastest Agent Going

Webroot's 5MB agent and cloud-lookup model means it doesn't fight Defender, doesn't tank your CPU and doesn't fail every IT survey for "my computer is slow".

Layered With Defender

We typically deploy Webroot alongside Microsoft Defender (not instead of) — two engines, better detection, low overhead. Best-of-both-worlds approach.

Monthly Security Reports

Threats blocked, devices at-risk, phishing simulation results, training completion — all in a digestible one-page monthly report you can share with your board or insurer.

Phishing Sim + Training Done Properly

We design the phishing campaigns, schedule the training, follow up with users who fall for sims — actual behaviour change, not just "we ticked the box."

Local SE QLD Response

Real incident? You call us. We're on the case within the hour, working through Webroot's investigation tools and (if needed) escalating to OpenText.

Use Cases

Where Webroot is the right pick

Cost-Conscious SMBs

Solid endpoint and DNS protection at a fraction of the per-seat cost of CrowdStrike or SentinelOne — the right call for SMBs where the budget won't stretch to full EDR.

Staff-Heavy, Lightweight-Device Fleets

Field workforces, hospitality teams, sales floors with low-spec laptops — Webroot's tiny footprint means everyone gets protected without buying new hardware.

DNS Filtering Without Hardware

Replace ageing Smoothwall / Untangle appliances or ISP-level filtering with a cloud DNS solution that follows the laptop everywhere — home, hotspot, cafe WiFi.

Cyber Insurance Compliance

Webroot EPP + Security Awareness Training + DNS Protection ticks most of the technical and human-layer boxes on cyber-insurance questionnaires.

Compliance-Driven SMBs

Healthcare, NDIS, accounting practices — Webroot's logging, reporting and AU-billing satisfy the audit trail without enterprise complexity.

Mac-Heavy Creative Teams

Mac AV is a tricky space — Webroot's Mac agent is mature, lightweight and doesn't constantly nag designers with notifications.

Our Process

How a Webroot rollout runs

1

Device Inventory

We discover your endpoint fleet — Windows, Mac, servers — and count what needs licensing.

2

Policy Design

Scan schedules, exclusion lists, USB device control, phishing categories, training cadence — designed to your business, not just defaults.

3

Pilot & Rollout

Deploy to a pilot group (usually IT + 5-10 staff), verify zero compatibility issues, then push fleet-wide via GPO, Intune, RMM or Jamf.

4

DNS Switch-Over

Point your DNS to Webroot's resolvers — at the network for in-office, at the agent for roaming devices. Categories enforced day one.

5

Training Programme Launch

Baseline phishing simulation, enroll all staff into Security Awareness Training, schedule monthly micro-modules.

6

Ongoing Monitoring

Daily alert review, monthly security report, quarterly policy tune-up, annual phishing simulation review — managed by us.

FAQs

Webroot FAQs

Isn't Webroot just consumer AV?
Webroot Business (now OpenText Webroot) is a cloud-managed business platform — multi-tenant console, GPO/Intune deploy, role-based access, audit logging. Same engine as the consumer product, very different management layer.
How does Webroot compare to CrowdStrike, SentinelOne or Defender for Business?
Webroot is lighter and cheaper than the top-tier EDRs (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne) and easier to manage than Defender for Business for multi-tenant MSPs. For SMBs that need solid AV + DNS + training at a sane price, it's a great fit. For high-target enterprises, we'd recommend layering or stepping up to dedicated EDR.
Will Webroot conflict with Microsoft Defender?
No — Webroot is designed to co-exist with Defender. Many of our deployments run both engines for layered detection.
Does it work on Mac?
Yes — full-featured Mac agent with the same lightweight footprint as Windows.
How much does it cost?
Endpoint Protection from around $4-5 per seat per month, DNS Protection ~$2 per seat per month, Security Awareness Training ~$3 per seat per month. Bundle pricing available — typically all three for under $8 per seat.
Do you provide ongoing management?
Yes — managed Webroot covers alert response, policy tuning, monthly reports, threat investigation and training campaign management. No need for in-house security expertise.
What about ransomware rollback?
Webroot's Journaling feature tracks file changes; if ransomware encrypts files, we can roll the endpoint back to pre-infection state. It's not a replacement for proper Datto/Veeam backup but it's a powerful additional layer.
