Cloud phone systems hosted in Australia — proper business voice, no overseas runaround
Virtutel is one of Australia's most trusted business voice providers — hosted PBX in Australian data centres, real Australian support, transparent per-second billing, and a feature set that competes with the global giants at half the cost. We're an authorised Virtutel partner: we design the call flows, port your existing numbers, supply and configure the handsets, train your team, and provide ongoing support. You get one number to call when anything voice-related needs attention.
Products & Offerings
Every Virtutel voice product — delivered end-to-end
Hosted PBX (Cloud Phone System)
Fully managed cloud phone system with auto-attendant, call queues, ring groups, voicemail-to-email, call recording, hunt groups and after-hours routing. No on-prem PBX to maintain, no Windows server to patch, scales from 3 to 300+ extensions.
Yealink & Snom Desk Handsets
Australian-keyboard handsets pre-provisioned and shipped ready-to-plug. Colour-screen executive phones, basic 2-line for receptions, expansion modules for call centres. All under warranty and replaceable next-business-day.
Softphone & Mobile App
Take your business number anywhere — desktop softphone for Windows/Mac and mobile app for iOS/Android. Tradies and field staff can answer the office number from the ute without giving out their personal mobile.
SIP Trunking (for existing PBX)
If you've got a 3CX, FreePBX, Cisco Call Manager, NEC, Panasonic or Avaya PBX on-prem — we can replace its expensive ISDN/PSTN trunks with Virtutel SIP trunks, often cutting line costs by 50-70%.
1300, 1800 & 13xx Inbound Numbers
Australian inbound numbers — point them at any extension, queue, mobile or after-hours destination. Time-of-day routing, geographic routing, IVR menus, all configurable from the web portal.
Call Recording & Reporting
Recorded calls retained for compliance, training and dispute resolution. Detailed call reports — by extension, queue, time, outcome — for sales-floor visibility and KPI tracking.
Microsoft Teams Voice Integration
Where you'd rather have voice inside Teams — we can route Virtutel DIDs straight into Microsoft Teams Phone via Direct Routing. Best of both worlds: Virtutel's voice network, Teams' UI.
Why Us
Why deploy Virtutel with us
Authorised Partner Status
Direct partner billing, technical escalation paths, early access to roadmap features. We're not reselling on a retail price list — we hold the partner of record.
Designed Call Flows
We map your real call flows — sales queue → after-hours mobile → voicemail-to-email → ticket creation — and configure them properly the first time. Not just "set up extensions and hope."
Local Number Porting
We manage the port of your existing Telstra/Optus/iiNet landlines and 1300/1800 numbers to Virtutel — including the LOA paperwork, port scheduling and cutover testing. No lost calls during the switch.
Handsets Pre-Provisioned
Phones arrive at your door pre-configured with your extensions, ringtones, BLF keys for colleagues, and labelled. Plug into the network — it just works.
Network QoS Configuration
We tune your firewall / UniFi gateway for voice QoS — prioritised voice packets, codec selection, jitter buffer, SIP ALG disabled. The difference between great call quality and "the voice keeps cutting out."
Staff Training Included
We run a 30-min training session for your team — how to transfer, conference, park, pick up queues, use the mobile app. People actually adopt the features instead of using one button forever.
Use Cases
Who we deploy Virtutel for
Multi-Site Businesses
One phone system across all sites, free inter-site calling, central reception that routes to the right branch, single bill, consistent voice quality.
Sales Teams With Queues
Round-robin or longest-idle queue distribution, queue position announcements, overflow to mobile, live wallboards showing queue depth and agent status.
Trades & Service Businesses
Receptionist takes the call, dispatches to the on-call tech's mobile via auto-attendant, all calls recorded for job-quoting reference. After-hours routes to on-call rotation.
Replacing Aged On-Prem PBX
Get rid of your ageing Avaya / NEC / Panasonic PBX with its $4k/year service contract and ISDN bills. Switch to hosted, slash line costs by 60%, gain mobile app + voicemail-to-email.
Hybrid / Work-From-Home
Softphones on every staff laptop and mobile means the business doesn't need a 'phone in the office' to take work calls. Hybrid teams transfer to each other regardless of where they're sitting.
Compliance-Bound Industries
Call recording, retention, password-protected access — meets compliance needs for financial, legal, medical and recruitment industries.
Our Process
How a Virtutel deployment runs
Call Flow Workshop
We walk through your current setup — who answers what, what numbers ring where, after-hours behaviour, queue structures, voicemail routing — and design the target state.
Design, Quote & Number Audit
Written system design, per-user pricing, hardware quote, number-porting list. Fixed-price install. You know exactly what it costs before we order anything.
Tenant Build & Number Port Submission
We provision your Virtutel tenant, build the call flows, submit number-port requests (typically 10-15 business days for landlines, 20-30 for 1300/1800).
Handset Pre-Provisioning
Phones arrive at our office, get pre-configured with your extensions and labelled, then shipped or hand-delivered to your sites.
Cutover Day
On port day we test the new system live, cut your numbers across, verify inbound and outbound, train your team on the new handsets, and stay on-site for the first afternoon.
30 Days Of Tuning
Voice systems always need a few tweaks once people are using them. We're responsive for the first month — adjust call flows, add buttons, retrain a user, fine-tune voicemail.
